7/20/2026 - Bike Law Pocket Guide Now on Windows and Android
Another milestone reached this weekend, we now have the Windows and Android versions of the Bike Law Pocket Guide up and running. Now we get to work through those app store options, meaning Microsoft, Google and Amazon each for the various versions. This work is the culmination of our 'Phase 1' work on this project. Enough to get it assembled and pushed out the door to make it available to as many people as possible.
This may not sound like much to a non-developer, but this project is far bigger than most people would realize. First off, this is a native application on every platform. The Android version is written in Kotlin, Windows is in C# using WPF, the Apple apps are written in Swift using SwiftUI, and the backend services are written C#. That is a lot of different technologies, but in order to provide the best user experience, we felt that it was worth the work. Now, we are largely at the mercy of the app stores. Submit, wait for review. In the meantime, we are also prepping the Desktop versions for direct download as well.
Coming soon, Phase 2, getting it in the hands of as many people as possible.
7/17/2026 - Bike Law Pocket Guide pushed to the Apple App Stores
After a few years of gestation and thought, the first iteration of the Bike Law Pocket Guide has been pushed to the Apple App Stores. With that said, some time in the coming week or so, we hope to see this application make it into the wild.
This has been a very long time coming. The original idea and concept of this goes back almost to the original iPhone. Time constraints always seemed to push the whole project to the side. Then when it finally started to come into being, it happened in fits and starts. However, over the last few months, outside pressures brought a sense of urgency.
Several local crashes and incidents, as well as the discussions around them just reenforced the idea that we need to focus again on the education and information that every person that rides a bicycle should have. That combined with the near constant private messages asking questions about bike laws in the US, having something to share that could answer most, if not all of those questions became a priority.
As a result, the impetus to build and complete this idea built until we could set aside a bit of time and resource to get it out the door. Is it done? not even remotely. There are already several more facets to add and flesh out, but the core information and education is in place. We hope that you find it to be a useful and valuable tool.
It is a free download with no in-app purchases, nor advertising. This is about education, advocacy and community, so please, share it around your community to anyone that rides, or has any interest in knowing the laws as they apply where they are.

Built and pushed into the App Store Review process. This initial release is entirely about getting the product out and into the world. There will be many enhancements to come. This is but the beginning of what we hope to be a grand, long term project to benefit not just cycling, but road safety on the whole.
