Distractions, Work and More Distractions

Druware

We have made no secret about our frustrations with getting things through the Google Play Store. The distraction that working through their process has represented is arguably even more frustrating. We have a long list of additional projects that we want to tackle, but the time spent on Google and their policies is, in a word, obscene. When we last posted on Oct 17th, we figured we were pretty much 'done' and had no chance of ever meeting their demands. An appeal was filed, and we thought to move on to other projects.

So we did. Work got back to normal on other projects. Our platform for managing a season oriented golf association / league ( Cudgel:Golf ) hit it's first major milestone, delivering it to our first Men's Golf Association for them to review and comment on before we formally announce it. Our accounting platform, FiSQL, has been updated to the point where we are now using it as our internal accounting system, allowing for pretty rapid iteration. I Have Issues has been brought up to spec and tested on Gnome, KDE and Haiku. Music Bingo and the Companion have both seen significant iteration. We've built an entirely new development environment on Haiku called HaikuCode. We rebuilt the Two Wheel Junction website and engine to be more forward looking. We created a new app for editing and viewing markdown files, Markedly.App.

We have been incredibly busy, and that does not even touch the surface of the work that is going on at the day jobs.

And yet... every time we go to talk about these projects, or put the finishing touches on them to put them into the wild and start marketing, we get a Google mail with something else to adjust to meet their demands. So none of that other work as yet seen the light of day.

That starts to change this week.

Why? Well, after what feels like an eternity, the Bike Law Pocket Guide made it through the approval phase to enter closed testing. ( yay! ). So, in theory we have 2 weeks until the next Google crisis. In the meantime, we are working to publish updates to each of our other projects, or launch another project every other weekday until we get through this backlog.

Tonight, Music Bingo ( all the apps ) were submitted to the various app stores... Thursday? Markedly.App goes up. Monday, HaikuCode will be pushed to a wider audience. From there? who knows :).
